The Samson Volunteer Rescue Squad is a vital part of our

community, as well as outlying areas in the county. Together, the

volunteer fire department and rescue squad answer over 800

service calls yearly. They serve 193 square miles with 3,706

address points. The citizens of the City of Samson, as well as the

citizens in the surrounding coverage area, depend on them to

answer the call for service.

The Samson Volunteer Rescue Squad operates independently

without any financial support from the Geneva County

Commission, despite having the widest coverage area in the

county.

Samson’s Emergency Medical Services (EMS) provides

immediate medical care to those in need, including trauma care,

life support, and ambulance transportation to medical facilities.

In addition, they are present during search and rescue operations,

conducting search and rescue missions for missing persons or in

situations such as natural disasters, where individuals may be

trapped or lost.

Samson Rescue assists during natural disasters like floods,

earthquakes, and hurricanes by performing evacuations, providing

medical aid, and helping with recovery efforts.

Educating the public on safety practices, first aid, CPR, and

disaster preparedness to help prevent emergencies and

encourage self-sufficiency is also another benefit of the local

rescue team.
